The universe of the Lunar Chronicles hold stories--and secrets--that are wondrous, vicious, and romantic. How did Cinder first arrive in New Beijing? How did the brooding soldier Wolf transform from a young man to a killer? When did Princess Winter and the palace guard Jacin realize their destinies?
With nine stories--five of which have never before been published--and a special bonus excerpt from Marissa Meyer's upcoming novel, Heartless, about the Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland. Stars Above is essential for fans of the bestselling and beloved Lunar Chronicles.
My Review
Yes, 4.5 stars. No, it wasn't because for the writing. Marissa's writing style was as flawless as always. No, it wasn't that it wasn't entertaining. Each novella brought back all the characters from the Lunar Chronicles that I've missed so much. No, it's not because there wasn't any action or romance. Trust me there is plenty of that. The reason why I couldn't give this collection of novellas a solid 5 stars, is because there where only 5 new novellas, the rest you would have already read in the main series. Which I know is pretty stupid, since it is stated that there are only 5 new short stories. When I saw it was 369 pages long, I thought it was going to be 369 pages of total new content. But, even with this little hiccup, it was still a very fun read, I loved the 5 new stores. And that second ending, I was and still am crying from. I'm a huge fan of this series, and I highly recommend Stars Above to any fans out there who loves this series just as much as I do. And if you haven't read this series, and are debating on pick them up, I highly recommend it too. Stars Above and the rest of the Lunar Chronicles has me excited to see what Marissa has in store in Heartless. So, until then I'll be waiting.
